A week of great things

Lots of important things to take place this week.
1. Today is my youngest sister's birthday. Paige turned 19, hard to believe she will be a sophmore in college! It's been nice to have her home for the summer and get to see her a little more.
2. Wednesday is my middle sister's birthday, Cortney- she's turning 24, as well as my Uncle Jeff's birthday!
3. Saturday is Cortney and David's wedding, I'm sooo excited I can hardly stand it. We've had a few bumps along the road (another blog post for another time), this year has just flown, I can't wait to see them become a Mr. & Mrs. :)
4. Plus us girls get a little pampering done this week- mani/pedis, makeup, hair, etc. all that fun stuff!
5. Great weather, I LOVE hot weather! Ok maybe not this hot....but for the most part I like it much better than the cold!
6. Lastly, a 4 day work week, AWWWWWW I'm in need of this majorly!

Paige and I at Grandma's for birthday dinners!

Here's to a great week!

Summer Must Have

Who doesn't love themselves a cute pair of wedges?!
I know I sure do, and I could continually buy new pairs ..
A. They are tall, always a plus
B. They are usually comfortable, well at least more comfortable than stilettos.
The website has some great bargain wedges today....I'm so tempted!!
These are all under $50, a few of them are only $30!

Fortunate Friday

Father's Day is this weekend! This will be the 1st Father's Day that I am a married woman, part of me feels that my Dad had "to let go" of his little girl when I tied the knot almost a year ago. I now have Pat that can  do those typical "Dad" duties that he used to help me with such as changing my oil, rotating and airing up my tires, fixing anything that breaks, hanging stuff on the walls, you know, all those guy things. It's hard to let go of that, you know, trying not to call Dad for everything anymore. I'm trying to learn to also be respectful of Pat, I know he wants to do things on his own etc. but I'm finding it hard to say "Can I just call my Dad and see what he thinks?" when Pat gets stuck with something. Even if Pat thinks he knows how to do something, I'll catch myself saying, "Well my Dad would do it this way......" (this is not a good comment to make fyi). But I'm learning and trying:)

I seriously have the best Dad a girl could ask for, I mean yea- he was pretty strict on me growing up (and boy I hated to make him mad!!), maybe more protective you could call it, but looking back, I find that I now appreciate it so much more and understand why he was the way he was. He also was harder on me that my younger sisters (they may say differently) but pretty sure my Mom would agree. I've always thought he expected more from me, maybe because I'm the oldest. Even though I felt he expected more, I never once doubted the fact that he was more proud of me that I could ever imagine. He has been extremely encouraging and supportive throughout my whole life, and to this day I HATE to disappoint him. One thing that he always tells me is "You can do anything you set your mind to". He knows my dream is to open my own business one of these days, and out of anyone I know, my Dad has full confidence that I will succeed, such a great feeling!

I look up to him for so many reasons- his work ethic (the guy never takes a break), the love he has for my Mom, it seriously just melts my heart (I hope Pat will still look at me like that in 30 years:), his willingness to take care of his family, his outgoing personality (we rarely go anywhere without him running into someone he knows), his determination, the respect he receives from friends/co-workers/aquaintenances, his faith in God and the fact that he has taught us girls to have that same faith. He has a heart of gold and I'm so proud and thankful to be his daughter. I love you Dad!

I remember my Dad saying how beautiful I looked and how proud of me he was, I'll never forget that moment.

We danced to Butterfly Kisses, this was the song I had wanted to dance with my Dad to since I was a little girl.

I'm so dang emotional!

Happy Friday!

Sale. Sale. Sale!

So now that I am married, my husband so to speak has me more on a "budget" which I hate, but hey worth it in the long run right?! So now that I'm on this "budget" I've become a little more of a sale shopper, and honestly do not buy much these days without a coupon or a sale price, crazy I know. As you know, Piperlime is my FAVORITE online shopping site, I've bought anything from dresses, to shoes, to jewelry, to sweaters from this site, and have never been disappointed! A huge plus is they also offer free shipping/free returns = bonus! Welp they are having a great sale right now, so these pretties are added to my "save for later" stash, hmmm what do I have coming up that I could possibly need this stuff for?!

MM Couture Floral Print Dress down from $102 to $38.97, now that's a bargain! I'm loving anything pleated right now so this is right up my ally! Love the girliness of it!

More Pleats! LOVE this Tinley Road Pleated Maxi- this brand is always reasonably priced and they have super cute stuff! Down from $89 to $59

Gotta love me some Chevron! C Luce Belted Dress down from $84 to $49. This would be a great dress for a summer wedding, bridal shower, or brunch + it's my fav color.

Pim Larkin Floral Blazer, so cute with the colored skinnies, it'd be great with several colors or even a distressed skinny jean. Bring on the floral! Down from $69 to $59.

Two of my favorite trends in one- Tinley Road Color Block Dress with the Hi-Lo hemline. You could spice this up with some more color with jewelry and a clutch. Down from $79 to $59.

Free People Lace Shorts with Scalloped Edge - LOVE LOVE LOVE! $78 down to $54. These would be adorable with a denim button up and some wedges.

Sabine Sequin Tank- this cute little number is so fun, I have the perfect pair of corals that would be great with it! $69 down to $35.

Lastly, my favorite, Ella Moss Maxi, which is of course the most expensive and this is a little out of my price range, BUT it is so cute and fun and would just be perfect for my Dominican Republic Trip..... I'll leave the price off for this one...

Summer Time Fav

I'm always on the hunt for a good cocktail that is refreshing and tasty, and that will always be a crowd pleaser. This is a MUST TRY! My Mom has gotten me addicted to this drink, they are oh so good, and they never get old! You can sip on these great drinks alllll night:) We made them for my sister's bachelorette party last weekend, and they were most definitely a hit! We even make a lighter version!

1 Can Limeade
Then fill empty limeade can with Tequila
1 1/2 Bottles Corona Light
1 1/2 Cans Diet Sprite

The time has come for my sis's bachelorette festivities- which means her wedding is getting closer and closer!! EEkkkkk I can't believe it's only three weeks away- I'm so stinkin' excited for her! I have a few surprises up my sleeve for her too:)

I hope she has soooooo much fun like I did....

Here we go

A huge box came to our door last night...and this is what it contained.

Patty boy ordered all of this- I guess he wants to get "ripped". This should be interesting, coming from a guy who eats nothing even semi-healthy, and hates cardio (which he will now be doing twice a day). All I know is this stuff better not go too waste!

Happy Thursday!

Pet Peeves

Not much of a purpose for this blog post, just to vent. So we all have pet peeves, right?! Let me share with you- two of my biggest pet peeves... first - people who don't RSVP to things. I'm not sure why people don't find this important anymore, but I find it extremely rude and annoying when people don't RSVP. To me it is polite, respectful, courteous, etc. to RSVP to events you are invited to. After planning a wedding, and now planning my sisters, along with several other parties I've thrown, I'm amazed at the very little RSVP's that come back. I mean how are the hosts supposed to know how much food to cook/order, drinks to make, seats to reserve, etc. when there is not an accurate count of people, isn't that WHY people send invites to begin with???? Uh. So frustrating. Oh and then what really gets me is the people who don't RSVP and then show up, or the ones who say they can't come and then show up, seriously people have a little bit of manners.

Second- people who do not send thank you notes, I'm not sure which I feel is worse, but this could be as equally impolite. I can't tell you the number of times I've attended an event, brought a gift, took my time to go, and never received a thank you, isn't that a simple, nice gesture to show your appreciation??? I'm just amazed at the manners people have sometimes....sigh..oh well that is all.

On a positive note- Patty boy will be home tonight..he's been gone since Sunday for work, Buddy and I miss him much!! Look how sad this guy looks, he misses his daddy!

Much Love~ Amber
